I’ve never been in to celebrating the New Year. Sure, it’s a great excuse to cook toothpick-able foods, stay up late watching Twilight Zone marathons, and renew my annual resolution to floss more often. Other than that, January 1 has always been just another day.
Until this year. Yesterday, I started thinking about where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing one year from now. With college graduation just four and half months away, and no definite post-graduation plans, I wasn’t able to envision my future self. At all. While the New Year might be a good time to reassess how often I’d like to floss my teeth, it’s perhaps a better time to ask myself where I hope to be a year from now, and what it will take to get there. What ingredients do I want to add to my life?
Do I need to sweeten it up?

Maybe I want to become more energized?

Or add a little spice to my daily routine?

As I begin to chose which seasonings, aromas, experiences and adventures I want to fill my life with this year, I hope, most of all, that I’ll be able to heed this advice from Henry David Thoreau:
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imaged.”
And now I challenge you to consider, what ingredients do you hope to add to your life this year?
